Owner-Requested Euthanasia

At the Humane Society of Pinellas, we are not only here for your pets throughout their life, but also once they cross the Rainbow Bridge. We believe that your pet should be treated with dignity and respect, and that as their caretaker, you should be able to make an educated end of life option for your loved one. We offer several euthanasia and cremation options and Humane Society of Pinellas staff are here to guide you and your pet through the process.

Euthanasia Services

All owner-requested euthanasia requires a medical exam, which is included in the price, as well as proof of ownership. We also ask that you bring any medical records with you, or have your current veterinarian fax them to us at (727) 240-0255. Our veterinarian reserves the right to refuse service.

Being present at your pet's euthanasia is your own choice - there is no right or wrong option, only the one that best fits you and your pet's needs.

If you believe your pet requires emergency care or euthanasia, and you live in the Clearwater area, please contact Blue Pearl (open 24 hours) in Clearwater at (727) 572-0132, or AA Emergency in Palm Harbor at (727) 787-5402.

Cremation Services

The Humane Society of Pinellas offers two cremation options: communal and private. With communal cremation, the ashes are not returned. With private cremation, your pet is individually cremated and the ashes are returned to you in your choice of urn. Cremation is performed by Anderson McQueen and fees are dependent on weight. Ask our clinic staff for our full euthanasia and cremation pricing sheet and allow us to help you make the best decision for you and your pet.
