Mobile Medical Unit
The Humane Society of Pinellas offers low-cost spay/neuter surgeries, vaccinations and microchips on our Mobile Medical Unit for those in our community experiencing financial hardship. If you are unemployed, on disability or other government assistance, you may qualify for our reduced-cost services. The Humane Society of Pinellas understands that pet owners want the best for their animals, but can't always afford veterinary care. Our Mobile Medical Unit travels throughout Pinellas County, making veterinary care affordable and, well, mobile!
How does the mobile work?
Clients visiting our Mobile Medical Unit for spay/neuter surgery must make an appointment. Because surgeries take place on the Mobile Unit, only pets under 5 years old and under 40 pounds can be spayed or neutered. For pets that do not fit this range, our Pet Clinic will arrange for the animal to be altered at our shelter on a spay/neuter Wednesday. Surgery deposits are $10 for cats and $15 for dogs.
how much do mobile services cost?
Every animal is an individual, so services vary greatly depending on the species, size of the pet, type of surgery, and any special medical needs your pet may have. We recommend you contact our Pet Clinic at (727) 791-6782 or email Clinic@HumanePinellas.org for pricing information.
pre-registration and walk-ups
Surgery registration begins at the Mobile location at 8AM. You can preregister by calling (727) 791-6782 or email Clinic@HumanePinellas.org. Walk-up clients are welcome to get vaccines, microchips and more between 1PM - 3PM. Only pets under 5 years old and under 40 lbs are eligible for the Mobile Medical Unit. Services will be denied at the discretion of HSP staff.
