The Humane Society of Pinellas strongly promotes the spaying and neutering of all pets not only to control pet over-population, but also for the health of your pet. Unaltered animals can develop conditions such as testicular, ovarian or mammary cancer, and are more likely to have behavioral concerns such as mounting, urine marking, territorial aggression and excessive vocalization.
Spay and neuter surgeries are by appointment only and offered Wednesdays. Pets must be healthy and up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations in order to be eligible for surgery at our shelter. Please let us know if your pet has any medical or behavioral conditions so our staff can properly care for your pet.
Spay/Neuter appointments require a deposit at the time the appointment is scheduled. Cats require a $10 deposit, while dogs require $15.
Please call our clinic at (727) 791-6782 or email Clinic@HumanePinellas.org for more information or to schedule an appointment!
Are you unemployed, on disability or other government assistance? Our Mobile Medical Center offers spay/neuter surgeries for our community members experiencing financial hardship.
