Pet Surrender Application

Please complete the following application as accurately and honestly as possible. The Humane Society of Pinellas is a managed admission, no-kill facility. Because of our no time limit policy, we can only accept animals that we can currently accommodate. This is dependent on space, foster home availability, staff time, and budget. We believe in giving our pets everything we can and therefore we only accept pets whose needs we are able to meet. Detailed and honest information is crucial to our placement process. Undesirable behaviors and medical issues do not necessarily prevent placement; however, not disclosing them may.

The Admissions Department books by appointment only. Please do not abandon your pet on our property! All abandoned pets have to go to Pinellas County Animal Services and sit for a stray-hold period. We know you are looking at our site because you want your pet to receive the best level of care.

We are dedicated to helping you keep your pet and we understand that 30-40% of surrendered pets could remain in the home with assistance. During the surrender process, we will offer you resources to help you keep your pet, such as free pet food, veterinary care, behavior advice and training, and much more. Do not hesitate to let us know how we can help you and your pet stay together!

Please allow 24-72 hours for our Admissions team to review your application and respond. The Admissions Department is closed Wednesdays and Holidays. For questions or to check on the status of your application, please contact the Admissions Department at or by calling (727) 797-7722 ext. 232.
