Adoptable Pets at Humane Society of Pinellas
WE’RE RENOVATING! BUT WE’RE OPEN!
The Adoption Center has been moved to the back of the HSP Campus during our renovation. The gate entrance for the Adoption Center is at the end of the side parking lot’s sidewalk. An Adoption Customer Service Representative will check you in at the gate.
PLEASE FOLLOW CDC RECOMMENDATIONS WHILE AT OUR FACILITY!
We are open to the public on a first come, first serve basis and are limiting our capacity to 50% in order to keep both our staff and community safe during this pandemic. HSP continues to provide an essential service to the community by intaking pets in need and finding adoptive homes. In order to continue operations, we must reduce the potential spread of the virus by taking extra precautions. We ask that all visitors entering HSP facilities wear appropriate face or mask coverings while maintaining at least a 6 foot social distance.
Our website is updated live, so if a pet’s photo is present, he/she is currently available for adoption. To see our Adoption Center hours of operation, please visit our Contact Us page. Contact [email protected] or 727-797-7722 Ext. 231 for additional questions or information.

Adoption Programs

Diamond dogs
In conjunction with Love My Dog Resort & Playground, The Humane Society of Pinellas believes that all senior dogs are true gems! When you adopt a dog aged 7 years or older from HSP, Love My Dog will provide you with ways to pamper your senior, including two weeks of free daycare, three waterpark visits and one grooming at the resort!

MILLION CAT CHALLENGE
The Humane Society of Pinellas is a participant in the Million Cat Challenge! Through a combination of efforts, including understanding our capacity for care and helping pet owners avoid shelter surrender, we can help reduce euthanasia not only in Pinellas County, but nationwide. We follow the Five Key Initiatives: providing alternatives to intake, managing admission, implementing capacity for care, removing barriers to adopt, and TNVR resources.

PETS FOR PATRIOTS
The Humane Society of Pinellas is a proud partner of the Pets for Patriots program. This program creates unique opportunities for members of the military community to save a life by honorably adopting homeless adult dogs and cats. Much like HSP, Pets for Patriots provides access to additional cost reductions for pet basics, such as food, toys and essential supplies.

SENIORS FOR SENIORS
At The Humane Society of Pinellas, we believe that love has no age limit! Adopters age 65 and older are eligible for 15% off their adoption of a dog or cat age 7+, as well as a 15% discount on services for that adopted pet. Whether it be at our retail store, or our Pet Hospital, our senior adopters can save money to support their HSP-adopted pet!
